About The Hair Transplant Surgeon
Robert J. Reese, DO is the Founder and Medical Director of Reese Hair Restoration, located in Edina, Minnesota.

Dr. Reese is a formally trained General and Peripheral Vascular Surgeon having completed his General Surgery residency at Meridia South Pointe Hospital, Cleveland, Ohio as well as the Joseph A. Grady Fellowship in Peripheral Vascular Surgery at St. John Hospital & Medical Center in Detroit, Michigan.

While practicing General and Vascular Surgery, Dr. Reese served as an Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery for the SUNY-Buffalo, New York School of Medicine as well as the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine. Additionally, Dr. Reese was selected as one of the top general surgeons in the United States by the Consumers Research Council of America.

Dr. Reese then studied Hair Restoration Surgery under some of the most respected physicians in the field including Dr. Mel Mayer, Dr. Craig Ziering, and Dr. Manual Jaffe.

Dr. Reese is Certified in General Surgery as well as Hair Restoration Surgery. He maintains hospital privileges in General and Vascular Surgery at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital and the West Health medical facility in the Twin Cities.

He serves the hair restoration profession in several capacities; as a member of the Board of Directors as well as an Examining Physician for the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery. Dr. Reese has also performed original research studying the effects of activated platelet derived growth factors as a wound healing accelerant in hair restoration surgery, and presenting this data to his colleagues at the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery Annual Meetings in 2006 and 2007.

Therefore, it is not surprising that Dr. Reese's philosophy of surgical hair restoration emphasizes quality over quantity and pre-procedural surgical planning prior to recommending the procedure for his patients."At Reese Hair Restoration I believe that every human head of hair is as unique as a fingerprint. I inform the prospective patient that even though a certain technique may be generally accepted as the "gold standard", that technique may or may not be in the best interest of the patient for a variety of individual patient specific reasons. I emphasize what I refer to as the "4 C's" of hair restoration surgery; Color contrast between hair and scalp, Caliber of hair, Curl of hair, and Characteristics of the patient's facial structure and hair loss pattern. I believe that the best work for the patient is to restore their natural look. The look that they had prior to having the hair loss. The best work is not to make an individual patient look like someone else. In this regard, many patients mistakenly believe that hair restoration surgery emphasizes vanity, when in fact the procedure is reconstructive in nature."

The patients who have their procedure performed at Reese Hair Restoration are guaranteed confidentiality, comfort, safety, and quality because we only perform one procedure per day - YOURS!
